Senior Trade Commissioners are responsible for the development and implementation of market strategies and the achievement of trade, investment and international education outcomes within each market, with a focus on the promotion and attraction of foreign direct investment.
Day to day responsibilities include providing leadership to the post, ensuring the delivery of Austrade’s services and management and coordination of post planning, resourcing and performance. Some positions alsohave responsibility for other posts in the region.
Development of networks of key decision makers, customers and contacts in the market and liaison with other government agencies and industry will be key to your success.
You must be comfortable in a high level representation and relationship building role and be able to quickly establish your credibility with senior executives from the private sector as well as ministerial and diplomatic representatives, both foreign and Australian, with whom you will routinely engage.
To succeed you will bring to Austrade sound commercial acumen, an understanding of government and the credibility to contribute substantially to international trade and investment activities. You will have a strong record of achievement in senior management within a substantial and complex organisation and significant experience of international markets and business trends relevant to the Post market. Language fluency is highly desirable.
