Australian Speakers of Japanese wanted for UNSW Language Research

22 Dec 2014 12:15 PM | Anonymous member (Administrator)

Dear Australian speakers of Japanese,

My name is Chihiro Thomson from UNSW Australia (University of New South Wales), Sydney. I seek your support to my project today.

I am conducting a project called the Japanese career pathways project in which I collect Life Stories of Australians who studied Japanese in Australia and currently work in Japan.

The outcome of this project will contribute to the Japanese language education research in Australia. Further, provided that I have your permission and that I make your stories accessible, the project will assist current and future learners of Japanese in schools and universities to envisage their future life after learning Japanese.

If you are interested in the project and willing to spare about one hour to share your Life Story, please do contact me, Chihiro Thomson at c.thomson@unsw.edu.au. We will set time and place and I will come to meet you for an interview.

For your reference, I attach the form (PISC) that you will be signing, if you decide to participate in the project. The form provides you with more details.

I would like to add that if you are a UNSW graduate, you do not have to feel obligated to participate in this project because it is from UNSW or because it is from Chihiro Thomson.

Best regards,

Chihiro Thomson (Professor)

UNSW Australia (University of New South Wales)
