Rugby Foundation Chapter Launch takes Wallabies a step closer to Japan Test

The ANZCCJ hosted a Rugby Legends lunch on 1 September for close to 70 of our members and friends to celebrate the launch of the Australian Rugby Foundation’s (ARF) Japan Chapter.  We invited former Wallaby and Waratahs Captain and 79 Test veteran, Phil Waugh, recent former Wallaby, Pat McCabe, and former Wallaby, Brumbies Captain and current ARU Director, Brett Robinson to give their predictions for London 2015 and to discuss how Australian Rugby can act as a vehicle for achieving other public, social and economic outcomes.

The Launch of the Australian Rugby Foundation (ARF) Japan Chapter is the first step in profiling the presence of Australian Rugby in Japan.  The ARF was established in Australia this year as the national foundation for Rugby with the goal of driving greater investment into the sport and engaging with Australian Rugby's supporters around the globe. The choice to establish a Chapter in Japan was a natural one for the ARF as Japan is set to host the 2019 Rugby World Cup - the first time the tournament will be held in Asia.

ANZCCJ Chair Melanie Brock has been appointed President of the Japan Chapter.  Also part of the Chapter are Peter Davis from Australia and New Zealand Banking Group (ANZ) and Andy Friend, Head Coach of Suntory Sungoliath.

Two lucky members went away with a signed Wallaby jersey and two tickets to any Australian Test match of their choice!
