Video Message from Rugby Star Ayumu Goromaru

09 Jun 2016 1:25 PM | Anonymous member (Administrator)

We are pleased to announce that a video message from Mr Ayumu Goromaru of the Queensland Reds (Super Rugby) can now be viewed on the Australian Embassy's new website.

The video was filmed before the Reds vs Sunwolves (Japan) game last month.  It features Bond University, where Mr Goromaru is studying English, and other areas of Australia, particularly Brisbane where the Reds are based.

Mr Goromaru talks about how he has enjoyed and benefited from studying in culturally diverse Australia.  He encourages Japanese students to follow in his footsteps.

Japan will host the 2019 Rugby World Cup and the 2020 Tokyo Olympic and Paralympic Games.  We expect that these events and sports diplomacy will strengthen the strategic partnership between Australia and Japan.

The ANZCCJ, through our Sports for Business Committee, is proud to support athletes such as Ayumu Goromaru and to develop business opportunities and relationships for ANZCCJ members via sporting related activities. For more information on how you can get involved with the Committee's activities, please contact our Executive Director, Cristina Merino, at cristina.merino@anzccj.jp
