Launch of ANZCCJ’s food and beverage promotion: ‘Australia & New Zealand Gourmet Master’ game

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

18 August 2016

  • ANZCCJ launches its first Australian and New Zealand food and beverage educational tool targeting Japanese consumers
  • ANZCCJ and Tokyo Chamber of Commerce and Industry (TCCI) will co-host their annual Gourmet Food & Wine Party on 7 September 2016
  • The event will be the Chamber's first 'pop up restaurant' event held at the Australian Embassy Tokyo
ANZCCJ announces the launch of ‘Australia & New  Zealand Gourmet Master’, an educational tool to raise awareness and knowledge of Australia and New Zealand’s gourmet product offering among Japanese consumers. The tool, produced by Ikemu Japan, is in a fun, educational format that appeals to the curious Japanese consumer – a quiz game.

The aim of the game is simple: To answer as many multiple choice questions correctly as possible in 60 seconds.  The questions become increasingly difficult as the player moves up four levels.

The launch of the game coincides with the ANZCCJ’s preparations for its sixth annual Gourmet Food & Wine Garden Party.  “The event is a celebration of Australia and New Zealand's food and wine culture and we hope that by playing the game more Japanese consumers will learn about our world-class food and beverages and be encouraged to attend the event” said Tim Barnstable, Chair of the ANZCCJ Food, Agriculture and Hospitality Committee.

The game uses mechanics that are simple and rewarding. More importantly, it is packed with trivia information about Australian and New Zealand food and wine. Gamers who reach a score of 40 and above will enter the draw for a chance to win two tickets to the ANZCCJ Gourmet Food and Wine Garden Party on 7 September 2016.  The winner will be announced in the ANZCCJ’s website and social media channels on 2 September 2016.

With more and more Australian and New Zealand-themed restaurants popping up around Tokyo, and with more of our products being found in menus of five-star restaurants and on the shelves of high-end retail stores, now is a good time to aid consumers in learning why they should choose Aussie and Kiwi”, added Melanie Brock, Chair of the ANZCCJ.
