  • A Welcome Reception was held on 1 December 2016 at the New Zealand Embassy Tokyo for four visiting All Blacks who were in Tokyo to engage in promotional activities
  • The event was co-hosted by American International Group, Inc (AIG) Japan, ANZCCJ and the New Zealand Embassy Tokyo
  • On 7 November 2016 AIG announced an extension of its sponsorship agreement with New Zealand Rugby. The extension strengthens the existing partnership announced in 2012 and reinforces AIG’s commitment to the global advancement of rugby.

AIG and ANZCCJ were pleased to host four New Zealand All Blacks at the New Zealand Embassy in Tokyo on Thursday (1 Dec) thanks to New Zealand Ambassador to Japan, HE Stephen Payton.

Members of the All Blacks were visiting Japan to participate in AIG promotional activities and attend an event with school children and members of the public in Tokyo.

Robert Noddin, President and CEO of AIG Japan hosted a Q&A session with the players and Nick Brown, General Content Manager from the All Blacks Commercial and Public Affairs team. From the team, the players in attendance were Scott Barrett, Anton Lienart-Brown, Steven Luatua, and Damian McKenzie. The players spoke of their hard fought battles against Ireland and their work promoting the All Blacks and the RWC2019 in Tokyo.

Following the Q&A session was a business networking function with members of the Japanese Rugby World Cup Organising Committee, senior business executives and members of the media.

Sports for Business Co-Chairs, Matthew Walker (AIG) and Sally Townsend were pleased to extend invitations to members of this ANZCCJ committee. Ms Townsend said “through SFB, the Chamber aims to develop business opportunities and relationships for our members through sporting related events. We are excited to have started planning for next year’s event calendar and look forward to active participation from our members.”
