MLA PRESS RELEASE
Meat & Livestock Australia (MLA) has launched a kid’s nutrition program “Aussie beef de genki kids!”, aiming to support Japanese kid’s genki through sports like rugby. As a first step, MLA will hold an "Aussie beef de genki!" Australian rugby event for reconstruction assistance in Kamaishi City on 31 October, and sponsor a BBQ at “Aussie beef de genki! Japan-Australia kid’s rugby festival in Yokohama” on 3 November. For full details on these events, visit MLA Japan's website. Supporting kid’s healthy life through sports like rugby
There are many Australian active athletes in Japan and many people associate Australia with rugby. Mega sporting events such as the Rugby World Cup in 2019 and Olympics in 2020 will be held in Japan. MLA will conduct nutrition-related activities that aim to support both parents and children's 'genki' through food and sports.
Monthly column and recipes for kid’s nutrition
A monthly column by Professor Uenishi of Joshi Eiyo University will be posted on MLA's website starting December. The column will feature the health benefits of Aussie beef for kids' nutrition and a monthly recipe.
Andrew Cox, MLA Regional Manager said “In Australia, Aussie beef and rugby are both great for growing kids - physically and mentally. With the Rugby World Cup in 2019 and Sevens rugby in the 2020 Olympics, now is the right time to build partnerships that help make Japanese kids more genki!”Source: Meat & Livestock Australia Japan
