Introduction: Originally from Melbourne, been in Japan since 1997 and appointed MD of BLLJ in 2007. Spent 5 years in Hong Kong working for Japanese firms before coming to Tokyo to study Japanese at Keio Uni following which I started with BLL in 1999.
Chamber Contribution: As head of one of the larger Aust/NZ service organisations in Japan by staff number (over 400 staff) would be well placed to provide advice to both firms and govt on how to grow a foreign service provider in Japan successfully. I am also committed to bettering the lifestyle of Aust/NZ'ers in Japan by better access to news/sports through Aust Network TV.

As a member of the Executive Committee in the coming year, I would use my professional skills, and media and government networks to advance this goal.

Chamber Contribution:  I bring both a financial and legal perspective to Executive Council deliberations and act as the Executive Council liaison with the Chamber's Legal Committee.  As the leader of a small start-up team within Macquarie Japan, I believe I can bring elements of the small business and also the big business point of view.  This year I hope to play a key role in guiding the formulation of the strategic plan and goals for the Chamber for the coming 2 years.

Introduction: I have lived and worked in Asia for the past 25 years in the retail and food marketing sector. Prior to Japan through my marketing efforts the MLA branding won Brand of the Year 4 years in a row and I was awarded the prestigious CEO of the year medal from the Business Herald. I was the chairman of ANZCCK (Korea) for 2 years and vice chairman for 3.
Chamber Contribution: Japan is my 6th Asian country. As such I feel I am in a position to contribute greatly to the Chamber from a base of both cultural and Asian business acumen. Agriculture is one of the main areas of consultation within the FTA negotiations with Japan and I am keen to assist and represent the chamber in these matters. I am the current Chair of the ANZCCJ Food & Ag Committee.

Introduction: Ms. Thomas has been in Japan for 13 and a half years, the last 9 of which have been with PricewaterhouseCoopers, most recently as a managing director. In NZ, Ryann worked as a lawyer in Auckland, primarily involved in litigation.
Chamber Contribution: Ms. Thomas has been Treasurer of the ANZCCJ since September 2005. In addition, she was Vice Chair for 2006-2009. Ms Thomas regularly attends events held by the Chamber, as well as organising events from time to time. She is also on the Committee for the New Zealand Business Development Committee (Kiwi Contacts).
