Keynote Speech by State Minister of Health, Labour and Welfare Mr Gaku Hashimoto

In early 2013, after two decades of economic stagnation, Prime Minister Shinzo Abe unveiled a comprehensive economic policy package to revive the Japanese economy.  Today this package is widely known as Abenomics.

The centrepiece of Abenomics has been its three 'policy arrows' focused on monetary policy, fiscal policy and growth strategy.  This ANZCCJ event will focus on the third arrow of Abenomics, a package of bold structural reforms and implementation of the National Growth Strategy.

Boosting productivity by changing the way we work:  A look at the third arrow of Abenomics

ANZCCJ is honoured to welcome Japanese State Minister of Health, Labour and Welfare, Mr Gaku Hashimoto, as keynote speaker at this event.  Minister Hashimoto will outline the Japanese Government's proposed changes to the way Japanese companies work, aimed at boosting productivity, improving corporate performance and encouraging labour participation.

Minister Hashimoto's speech will be followed by a panel of companies leading the way in work-style reform in Japan.  The panellists will provide specific examples of measures being successfully implemented by their companies to achieve higher productivity through performance-based reward systems, use of technology to achieve a flexible working environment, and achieving better work-life balance for their employees.

The Panel
  • Mr Senri Tanida, President, Tanita Corporation
  • Mr Taku Nishimura, President, SOW Experience
  • Ms Shizuka Aone, Head of Corporate Affairs, Lendlease Japan
  • Mr Laurent Gachet, CEO, Edenred Japan

Moderated by Mr Jakob Edberg, President and CEO, GR Japan.  View profile in English and Japanese

The panellists will be seated at five different tables to allow guests to continue the discussion on work style reform at their own table.
