Reaching higher: lifting Japan-Australia university and industry collaboration to new heights.
Universities Australia (UA) and its counterpart, the Japan Association of National Universities (JANU) will hold a workshop on industry collaboration and technology transfer, to be hosted by Osaka University on 9-10 October. The event will interest businesses that currently have, or are considering, research engagement with universities.
In this period of rapid technological change, both countries aim to increase collaboration between industry and universities to leverage their research capabilities. The UA-JANU event will share experiences and case studies on how successful cross-border industry / university collaborations have been achieved and build the foundations for new collaborations. Senior Japanese and Australian industry, university and government figures will be attending.
The event is conveniently timed so that those attending the Science and Technology (STS) Forum in Kyoto and/or the Japan-Australia/Australia-Japan Business Cooperation Committee (JABCC-AJBCC) conference in Osaka can transfer smoothly to the UA / JANU event.
