The Australian and New Zealand Chamber of Commerce in Japan (ANZCCJ), in conjunction with Street Rugby Alliance, are delighted to host a ‘Green Carpet' media event as a prelude to the ANZCCJ’s Japan welcome reception for the NSW Waratahs Super Rugby team. A highlight of the Green Carpet event will be a Street Rugby demonstration by the Waratahs and Japanese kids.
This media event, which will be held at the Australian Embassy Tokyo on 30 June 2016, will also be an opportunity to learn about the ANZCCJ’s Sports for Business program and Street Rugby Alliance’s grassroots Rugby initiative.
The welcome reception following the Green Carpet event will host prominent figures from Japanese sports and government and from the Australian and Japanese business community.
The NSW Waratahs will be in Japan to face Japan’s new Super Rugby franchise, the Sunwolves, at a match on 2 July in Tokyo’s Prince Chichibu Rugby Stadium.
ANZCCJ Chair Melanie Brock said “We look forward to welcoming the NSW Waratahs to Japan and hope that their visit will encourage further engagement between Australia and Japan through sport.”
NSW Waratahs CEO, Andrew Hore, welcomed the news.
“The team thanks everyone that has worked behind the scenes to deliver this event and to the event’s main sponsor, Macquarie Capital Securities. We look forward to what will be an incredible clash against the Sunwolves in Tokyo”.
