Due to the limited flights between Japan and Australia/New Zealand at this time, international postal services are experiencing temporary suspensions and delays.
Below is a summary of updates to international postage services, as of 10 June, 2020.
Japan Post:
The delivery of EMS and Air mail to Australia remains suspended. Delivery of all types of mail to New Zealand is suspended
Australia Post:
As of June 5, Australia Post has resumed delivery of all inbound and outbound items to Japan.
According to the Australia Post website, the suspension of of Economy Services for parcels into Japan (effective April 3) will remain in place until further notice. Delivery of Express parcels is estimated to take 6-10 business days, with 10-22 business days estimated for Standard parcels.
New Zealand Post:
As of June 10, New Zealand Post expects delays of up to 7-10 working days for postage deliveries to Japan.
All inbound postage from Japan remains suspended until further notice, due to the lack of transport capacity.
