Waratahs Welcome Reception, 30 June 2016

They say time flies when you’re having fun and that could not be truer for this month! Kicking off July, we had a fantastic event with the Waratahs where we rolled out the Green Carpet to welcome the Aussie rugby team. Following on from this, we hosted another ANZ Lunchtime Series event with Chief China Economist, Raymond Yeung, where he revealed his insights and interpretations of the Chinese market.

We also participated in Support Our Kids’ (SOK) charity dinner with special guest, New Zealand Rugby star Daniel Carter, on 18 July. I am very proud to announce ANZCCJ donated 357,000 yen to this organisation on behalf of our members. The very next day, we held a joint event with our newest Gold Sponsor, CST Tax Advisors, to celebrate the launch of their Tokyo office as well as the release of the highly-acclaimed book, Expatland. This event also hosted two very special guests, Australian cricket hero Brad Hogg and New Zealand rugby star Craig Wing. We would like to once again extend our thanks to CST and their guests.

The last big event of this month was the Annual General Meeting. While the AGM might not be the most exciting event on the calendar of any organisation, it is one of the most important. Therefore, I would like to take this opportunity to thank those members who attended, as well as all the nominees for the Executive Council positions. Visit our website for details!

Needless to say, it has been a very exciting month and we would like to thank all members for your ongoing support of the Chamber. Keep an eye on our website for updates on our upcoming SME Support event in August and our big September event, the Gourmet Food and Garden Party! Looking forward to seeing many of you there to help us celebrate Australian and New Zealand food culture.
