Now Hiring: Seeking a new Executive Director

We are seeking a new Executive Director!

Founded in 1972, the ANZCCJ is an independent, non-profit organisation dedicated to playing a constructive and meaningful role in developing Australia/New Zealand-Japan business and providing our members with access to effective information, representation, and commercial connections. We are seeking a passionate, mission-driven, and proactive Executive Director (ED) with a strong sense of ownership, who shares our vision of advocating for Australian and New Zealand businesses in Japan, can lead the day-to-day office operations, and work with an Executive Council and membership that represents a diverse range of sectors. 

The ED has a mandate from the Chair and Executive Council to proactively lead an integrated strategy for the Chamber that strengthens the organisation and enables sustainable growth and stability. Responsibilities include direct oversight of the Chamber’s finances and budget, management of direct reports (Senior Operations Manager and interns), overseeing the committees and events calendar, and other key activities.

Our Executive Director will have the following skills and experience:

  • Proficient operational and financial acumen
  • Great interpersonal and communication skills in English (native) and Japanese (JLPT N2+)
  • Experience in senior external stakeholder management and government relations expertise 
  • Strong sense of ownership and accountability
  • Great Social Media skills
  • Ability to effectively manage time and resources to get things done
  • Strong critical thinking and problem-solving skills
